Cripps and Sons: custom GPTs that run the shop floor

Custom kitchen and cabinetry firm, Nova Scotia

Micro Accelerator. Hands-on coaching, multiple custom GPTs built by the team, 3-month follow-up.

The situation

Cripps and Sons runs custom kitchen and cabinetry installs. Quoting work meant printing engineering drawings, manually verifying door specs against supplier cut lists, searching appliance dimensions one at a time, and pulling daily task info from Slack, Outlook, and calendars by hand. Every step cost time and invited errors that showed up on the quote.

What we did together

Jim Cripps and the team came into the Micro Accelerator and built multiple custom GPTs with our coaching. A door quote auditor that extracts door codes and flags discrepancies in supplier cut lists. An appliance spec finder that returns correct dimensions and manufacturer links. A cabinet cost estimator that processes design plans for rough pricing. A daily operations brief that pulls from Slack, email, and calendar into one summary. And a plan upload tool that reads engineering drawings and extracts materials lists. The team built every one of these themselves, which means they own them and keep improving them.

Outcomes

  • 5+ custom GPTs built by the Cripps team during the engagement
  • Door quote auditor replacing manual print-and-mark verification of supplier cut lists
  • Appliance and hardware spec lookup automated with correct dimensions and manufacturer links
  • Cabinet cost estimator producing rough pricing from uploaded design plans
  • Daily operations brief consolidating Slack, Outlook, and calendar into one view
  • Quote prep and bid turnaround time reduced across multiple job types

Worth noting

Jim built these GPTs with our coaching. The team owns every tool and knows how to extend them.
